I remember reading an artical once about the benefits of tea. It was sometime back and so I thought, why not write about it. Since I drink quite a bit of tea and honestly prefer it to coffee. So for those of you who don't know much about the benefits of tea, here you go.. =)
Health Benefits
Did you ever realize that tea is enjoy by most centenarians all around the world? Why wouldn't it be when it is actually a powerful antioxidant that improves concentration, gently boost energy, and can actually make people happier. The free radical-inhibiting property of tea is more potent than that of Vitamin E, and tea is a proven preventive and treatment for atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries). Also, the polyphenols in tea, especially the catechins, are powerful antioxdiants that help ward of diabetes and cancer.
Better then a cuppa Coffee
Yes, its true. Tea is actually better then coffee. Coffee does give you that initial jolt you need to kick start your day. But, what coffee really does is actually depletes your vital essence, in the form of "borrowing" energy that you didn't have in the first place. Also, caffeine is a sort of central nervous system stimulant. It causes you to experience stress, anxiety, a racing, clogged up mind, and even insomnia, which works against your attempt to relax your body and calm your mind.
So instead, drink a cup of herbal tea, black tea or green tea. They all stil do contain caffeine but, a much lower amount compared to coffee.
Slimming with Tea
Drinking tea helps in cleansing ones system. You will be able to flush your system, replace fluids and pump the body with powerful antioxidants at the same time. Besides all the health benefits, tea is a zero-calorie beverage, making it your best choice for weight loss. So instead of taking a diet sode (which is pack with loads of sugar), grad a cup of tea.
Types of tea leaves and their benefits
So, here is a list of several different tea leaves, root, bark or flower. They are aromatic and filled with health benefits.
Ginger: Soothe the digestive system and keeps your energy fired up. It also helps when you have very bad phlegm.
Chamomile: Settles the stomach and calms and soothes the nervous system.
Peppermint: Increase healthy gastric secretions, relaxes the intestines, and settles the stomach.
Dandelion: Detoxifies and supports healthy liver functions.
Valerian: A natural herbal substitute for sleeping pills.
Note: You can also combine these herbs in any way according to your taste and preference. Different combinations will result in many different health benefits. Also, don't drink the instant or bottled tea. It can be tasty but the natural properties of the tea leaves are hugely diminished. So go for tea bags or loose leaves and herb.
I hope this will help you guys. =)

The main advantage of tea lies in the fact that it is a completely natural product, without any added flavorings, colors or preservatives. Likewise, when drunk without adding any sugar, honey or milk, tea has no calories and simultaneously serves as a crucial component for maintaining the balance of body liquids.
